General Information

Do I need more than one ticket?

No, just keep your single reservation number with you at all times when travelling on or to/from any element of your megabusplus journey.

How will I know where to get the train from at East Midlands Parkway station?
There will be a Customer Service Assistant on your arrival at the station who will guide you to the correct platform. It is likely that you will need to cross the bridge to access the platform, but lifts are available. Please note that the train you need to travel on may not be the first train to arrive at the station - staff at the station will advise you.

Where will I get the coach from at East Midlands Parkway station?
Once you arrive at the station, walk to the station entrance where you should find the coach waiting for you. There may be occasions when you will need to cross the bridge to exit the platform, but lifts are available.

Do I have a reserved seat on the train and how do I find out where to sit?
There will be a group of seats reserved for megabusplus.com customers, but no one specific seat for yourself. Your coach driver will advise you which carriage you need to sit in.

What do I do if my service is delayed and I missed my connection?
Follow the advice of your coach driver or the Customer Service Assistant at East Midlands Parkway station. Please do not make your own way onto an alternative service, as you may end up being charged for a normal train ticket on the train.

Megabusplus (The train element)

How does megatrain work with the automatic barriers at stations?

There are currently no automatic barriers at either London St. Pancras or East Midlands Parkway. However, there are manual checks at London and barrier staff will have a copy of the megabusplus passenger loading sheet and passenger reference numbers will be checked. As this process will obviously take a little longer than checking a ticket we specify that megabusplus passengers should be at the station 10 minutes prior to departure.

What do I give the Train Manager on the train?
You will require your booking reference to travel, ensure you obtain this reference for each journey you book. Take your booking reference with you and present it to the Train Manager and any other railway staff who ask to see it. It entitles you to make the journey specified at time of booking. For details of our conditions please see the small print

My reservation states London St. Pancras; can I board/alight elsewhere?
You must board and alight at the point shown on your reservation, and it is a condition of travel on the train element of megabusplus that you may not board or alight at other points on the route. If you do board/alight at somewhere other than St. Pancras, you will be charged the full single fare for the actual journey made.

Why can't I get on or off the train at intermediate stations?
megabusplus is a development of the successful megatrain and megabus concepts of low cost intercity travel which have been run by Stagecoach for over two years. It is not expected to be highly profitable and must attract a good number of new customers to justify itself. In order to do that, it needs to be kept simple for passengers booking and simple for our staff to implement and monitor. Therefore, megabusplus is only being offered on lightly loaded trains and between certain origins and destinations only. Should the extension of the initial megabusplus routes prove popular with our passengers, we may extend to offer to more places.

What happens if there are engineering works on the megabusplus network?
There are often engineering works during weekends and public holidays which require alterations to train times and services. Where times are changed megabusplus.com will advise passengers in advance of travel. If necessary you will be conveyed by coach for the full duration of your journey, rather than partly by train.

Do you offer Assisted Travel on megatrain?
Please call 08457 125 678 or textphone 08457 078 051 to arrange special assistance.

I am over 60. Can I use my concessionary pass?
English National Concession passes, Railcards, Rail Rover tickets and Staff travel passes aren't valid on megabusplus services. Scottish Concessionary Entitlement Cards are not valid outside Scotland.
